Car Show Coverage

This is coverage of car shows that stillkruzn.com has attended.  Keep in mind that at large shows, we can’t always photograph every car, but we try to get as many as possible.  If you see a picture of your car and would like a copy of it, please use the ‘Contact Us’ page to let us know which one.

Effective immediately – all car show coverage will be on the main page in the Blog section.  Click on the Home button above.  The coverage below will remain here for future viewing.  By moving the coverage to the Blog section, I will be able to feature a few of the pictures in the blog post and will make it easier for fans to find the coverage on the main page.  Links to the blog post will also be on our Facebook page.

May 18, 2013 – Vilonia Cruisers Car Show:  Today was kind of an off day for me.  Didn’t take my old hot rod out anywhere as I had some other things going on, but I did make it past the Home Depot for the this car show. Spent some time hanging out with some good friends and taking some pictures of some really cool cars.

This show had a little bit of everything… from a new Camaro, to one of my favorite cars… Ken Coyle’s Austin Healey.  It’s always a good time when Ken is around and we get a few minutes to catch up.

Got to send a ‘Great Job’ out to the Vilonia Cruises car club.

May 11, 2013 – Vilonia Car Club Car Show: Got to hang out in Vilonia for a few hours looking at some cool cars.  The Vilonia Car Club is new, but these folks are not new to car shows.  With a few over 100 cars registered and the sun shining, I would call it a successful event!

This show is always held at the Vilonia High School parking lot and the proceeds help local charities and that’s what it’s all about…

May 4, 2013 – Toad Suck Daze Car Show: There is just something about Toad Suck Daze and rain…  They go together like peanut butter and jelly.  Toad Suck Car Club was plagued by some rain again this year, at least it was a toad strangler (pun intended).  This year was just some light drizzle and sprinkling.  Even with the weather, they had 82 cars come out and some very nice ones at that.  Covington Classic Autos and Toad Suck Harley Davidson has been the venue for 2 years now and they are looking forward to the future.

TSCC has been at this so long, there shows pretty much run themselves.  The guys and gals did an awesome job.  The trophies this year were cut out in the shape of a spark plug for 1st and 2nd place.  The trophies that TSCC uses have been a big hit over the past couple of years.  Looking forward for their fall show at the Conway Expo Center in August.

April 13, 2013 – CAMS Car Club Sonic Cruise: They are at it again at the Sonic in Maumelle and they are still doing a great job.  This has been one of my favorite events to attend.  Just a good time hanging with some good friends and good food.

If you didn’t make this one, there is always next month… or the next one.  For a slideshow of the pictures, click here.  If you prefer just the individual pictures, click here.

April 13, 2013 – CC Kruzers: These guys are going a bang up job.  They have jumped on several car shows over the past year to host raising money for several charities.  This one was benefitting the Relay for Life.  I’m not sure of the final count of cars that showed up, but there were some quality cars.

Check out the calendar page for the next CC Kruzers car show, and also their Sonic Cruise.  For a slideshow of the pictures, click here.  If you prefer just the individual pictures, click here.

March 9, 2013 – NSRA Appreciation & Safety Day: Car show season has officially started for StillKruzn.com.  Today we headed out to Pulaski Technical College in Little Rock for the NSRA Appreciation Day hosted by the CAMS Car Club.  Over 130 cars came out for the day.  Everything from a Studebaker milk truck to shiniest street rod and everything in between.

CAMS Car Club was taking donations for the Ben Garcia Scholarship fund.  The scholarship is named for one of their long-time club members and benefits a student in their final semester of Pulaski Tech’s automotive technology or automotive collision repair programs.  The scholarship enables the student the tools necessary to get started in the automotive repair trade.

The Arkansas NSRA Safety Team was also on hand to perform safety inspections.  There were 30+ cars inspected during the day.  As a fairly new member of the safety team, I thoroughly enjoyed working with Ronnie and Bobbi Clark.  Ronnie is the NSRA State Inspector.  Since I was busy with inspections, Josh shot the pics today…

November 10, 2012 – CAMS Cruise Night: Well, I finally am getting the pictures up for your viewing.  The last Sonic Cruise Night of the year for the CAMS Car Club was great.  I have enjoyed this cruise this year, made it several of them.  Got to hang out with some friends that I don’t see very often and meet some new ones.

Had several people tell me that they have added StillKruzn.com to their favorites and check it often to see where we’ve been.  You don’t know what that means to us.  Thank You!  Also, got to say thanks to CAMS for putting on a great cruise.  Hope you are already in the planning for next year.

October 13, 2012 – StillKruzn Car Show and Cruise-In: We had a great day out at the fairgrounds for our first time putting on a show.  We had hoped for a better turnout than what we had, but we will take it.  The morning started off with some pretty think fog and it looked like it was going to rain for most of the morning.

We had some pretty cool cars show up and had as many Volkswagens as we did Chevy and Fords.  We are looking forward to next year, but we haven’t decided what to do yet, so stay tuned to StillKruzn.com for the plans.  We will announce them as soon as we have them.

October 13, 2012 – Hot Rods and Hogs: So, after our car show, we drove a few blocks to another car show that was going on in town.  Hot Rods and Hogs was going on at Toad Suck Harley Davidson.  That had a few cars/trucks and  bunch of bikes.

There was one interesting bike at this show.  Iron Horse Coach Company had their trike and funeral coach at the show.  This is a coach trailer that they pull behind the trike for people that want a different ride to their final resting place.  The reason that this is cool to me, is that they use this for our fallen soldiers, most recently Sgt Swindle over in Beebe, AR a few weeks ago.  Check out a blog post for more of this.

September 22, 2012 – Petit Jean Mtn Car Show/Shine: It was a great morning for a cruise up the mountain to the Museum of Automobiles on Petit Jean.  This was the first year for the car show during the Fall Swap Meet that also includes a Military Vehicle Rally.  This show was hosted by Chuck McNeal and the proceeds from the car show benefitted the museum.  I am all for supporting this museum as they have some great cars and a lot of Arkansas history is on display.

Did you know a car was built in Little Rock in the early 1920′s?  The Climber Automobile Company produced the Climber and one of them is on display at the museum.  If you have never toured the museum, we highly recommend it.

Congratulations go out to Chuck and is team of volunteers.  We are looking forward to next year!

August 11, 2012 – CAMS Cruise Night: We headed out to Maumelle, AR again for the CAMS Sonic Cruise again last night.  attendance was down a bit, I am guessing because of all those football fans.  I can’t imagine wanting to sit in a crowded football stadium instead of walking around talking to friends and looking at some awesome cars.  Oh well, they probably think the same about me…

If you haven’t been to one of these cruises yet, be sure to check out the next one.  They are shooting for doing this the 2nd Saturday of each month.  For more information check out their website - www.camscarclub.org.

August 25, 2012 – Lost in the 50′s Car Show:  Headed out to  Cabot, AR for the Lost in the 50′s Car Show that benefits the Cabot Community Theater.  This car show is hosted by Bob Morris.  I know Bob through one of the local car clubs and he has been after me to come over to this show, but the timing had never worked out.  Well, I finally made it, and Bob does a great job with this show.  They moved to a new location this year, a parking lot of a local business.  There ended up being about 75 – 80 cars registered with lots of room left over.

The weather was a little overcast, with a little rain in the morning, but that didn’t stop anyone from coming out enjoying the day.  The entertainment included games for the kids (old and young), along with door prizes, and an Elvis impersonator.

Got to send congratulations out to Bob and his team of workers for putting on a great show!

August 11, 2012 – CAMS Cruise Night:  Decided to take a cruise tonight to Maumelle, AR to the Sonic.  CAMS Car Club was hosting a cruise night.  The weather finally cooled off a bit and it was a nice day to get out and drive the hot rod (not that I need an excuse for that), and got to hang out with some really awesome people.  There were quite a few cars that showed up and they just kept coming and going and with all the people, it made it tough to get a picture of every car.

I was able to get some pictures though.  CAMS did a great job, and even though they didn’t have awards (which I am also a big fan of car shows/cruise-ins without awards) they had drawing for different prizes.  Mostly gift cards from the Sonic, gas cards, and gift cards from a local car wash.  CAMS, you did a great job!

August 4, 2012 – Toad Suck Car Show:  The weather outside was hot!  The weather at the car show was awesome, but, it was indoors at the Faulkner County Expo Center and Fairgrounds with the a/c running wide open.  TSCC started the day with 52 cars pre-registered, with a total at the end of the day around 80 cars.  Not to shabby for the first time doing and indoor show.  Again, the car club did a fantastic job hosting a car show.  A large variety of cars, from t-buckets to late models.

According to the club, they are already starting to work on this car show for next year to make it bigger and better.  The one thing that they plan on doing is getting it away from the 1st weekend of August as to not conflict with the NSRA Nationals in Louisville, KY.  There were some missing cars due to this.

Congrats go out to the TSCC team for their hard work and passion for this hobby.  To see a slide show of the day, click here.  To see the individual pictures, click here.

June 2, 2012 – MSA Car Show 8:  Another successful year for Motorsports Authority Car Show.  This is the 8th year  and the 2nd at the Conway Expo Center.  A good mix of cars were present again this year, a few hot rods, several muscle cars, trucks and imports.  The money raised from the show benefits the students in Auto Collision Program at the Conway Area Career Center.  The car show raised approximately $3000 for the program.

This years “Best of” trophies went to:

  • BEST OF SHOW Mark Eldridge
  • BEST ENGINE Dan Teague
  • BEST BAG SETUP Michael Fletcher
  • BEST AUDIO/VIDEO Willie Gaddy
  • BEST BIKE Rick Hardester
  • BEST PAINT David “Woody” Wood
  • PEOPLE’S CHOICE Jason Pontiff
  • BEST BUY CHOICE Joe Coleman

The MSA crew did another outstanding job, thanks for letting us be a part of it.

May 5, 2012 – Toad Suck Daze Car Show:  No one was sure what to expect this year as Toad Suck Car Club decided to move the location of their annual show during Toad Suck Daze.  Because of the festival itself growing and restaurants moving in downtown, the car club decided to try a new venue this year.  Covington Classic Autos and Landers Toad Suck Harley Davidson offered to host the annual car show in their parking lots.  Much to the surprise of everyone, this move provided the best attended car show in several years, with a total of just over 200 cars, and countless spectators.  In fact, there may have been more spectators than there were car show people.

The move provided more parking for the car show and a venue that is welcoming TSCC back next year.  Looks like this is going to be a good fit for all parties involved.

As always, there were hot rods, late model cars, and everything in between.  The Corvette clubs came out in full force, at least 30 Corvettes were in attendance.

I think that Covington, the Harley Dealership, and the car club are already looking forward to next year to make this event bigger and better.

April 28, 2012 – SpringFest Car Show – Heber Springs, AR:  The setting was the courthouse lawn in downtown Heber Springs.  Couldn’t have asked for a better day to hang out at a car show, the first for the 2012 cruising season.  This show has been going on for several years and this is the first time we’ve been able to attend.  One of the show sponsors, Spanky’s Hot Rods and Customs invited us up for the day.  There was a good mix of cars in attendance, all parked on the courthouse lawn.

Thanks to all the organizers and sponsors for putting on a great show to start of the season.  To see a slideshow of the pictures from the day, click here.  For the individual pictures, click here.

October 22, 2011 – 4th Annual Fall Cruise:  Well it started out a chilly morning on the way to meet up with everyone.  This year we cruised in Josh’s 65 Ford Truck since it is finally back on the road, for the most part…  We met the group in El Paso, AR and headed up Hwy 5 to Heber Springs, where we took Hwy 25 into Batesville to Mark Martin Ford and Museum.  We were supposed to stop for lunch in Hardy, but we were invited to join the fish fry at Mark Martin Ford.  John 3:16 Ministries were there cooking and we appreciated the invite.

From there is was a ride up Hwy 167 to Ash Flat for the next stop.  It was at this point that Josh and I had to turn back towards home to make it back for another appointment, but we had a great time cruising with the group.  A big thanks goes out to Dicky and Mary Jane Shannon for organizing this event every year.  They do an awesome job planning and leading the cruise!

October 8, 2011 – ASRA Rod Run at DeGray Lake State Park: It was a gorgeous day to be at DeGray Lake in Arkadelphia, AR.  The Arkansas Street Rod Association host a Rod Run at the State Park every year and it couldn’t be a better location for an even like this.

For the particpants, they had many games and even served lunch to everyone.  All the money raised at the rod run is given back to the particpants.  We had a great day hanging out with the ASRA folks and you can look forward to a couple of photo shoots that we did while there.

September 10, 2011 – Mopar Madness Patriot Day Car Show: Sponsored by Superior Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram and Pentastar Madness Mopar Club, some new and classic Mopars took over the dealership parking lot.  I don’t think that i have seen that many Chargers, Dusters, Challengers, or Dodge trucks in one place for quite some time.  There was also a deuce there, not your typical deuce, this was a ’32 Plymouth street rod.  You don’t see to many of these.

The Army was also on hand with a display of one of their Humvees and armored personnel vehicles.  Along with a couple of machine guns.  The Arkansas State Police was also there with one of their Dodge Charger cars and a restored ASP car.

August 20, 2011 – Toad Suck Car Show @ Pickles Gap Village: Another warm day in Conway, AR for the TSCC Car Show.  This was the 3rd annual show at Pickles Gap Village and there were about 86 cars registered.  This car show always puts on a quality show.  Right down to the entertainment.  Gene Shaw from Calhoun, LA was on tap today to sing some favorite Elvis songs.  Also present today was the Central Arkansas Corvette Club as they brought out about 14 corvettes.

The car club also had another batch of their 25th anniversary trophies for the winners done up in the club logo colors of green and yellow.  These trophies were very unique, old time gas pump laser cut and painted by one of the club members and Halter’s Body Shop in Conway.

Cruisin’ Style magazine was also present to take pictures of the cars and happenings for an upcoming issue.  StillKruzn.com not only was there for pictures, but was shooting video for an upcoming video series that we are working on.  Keep an eye on the website for that update.

July 9 , 2011 – Motorsports Authority Car Show: With the temperature pushing 100 degrees outside in Conway on July 9, we were pretty comfortable sitting in the air conditioned expo center.  MSA registered 95 cars and put them all in a 47,000 square foot building for their 7th annual car show that benefits the Auto Collision Program at the Conway Area Career Center.  This is one show that brings out many genres of cars.  The street rods, tuners, low-rider pickups, motorcycles, you name it was there.

Congratulations go out to Bryan and his team on another successful car show.  Looking forward to next year already (as long as he does in the air conditioned building again!).

June 25 , 2011 – Archey Fork Car Show: Spent the morning in Clinton, AR at the Archey Fork Car Show hosted by the Archey Fork Car Club.  They hold the car in downtown Clinton around the courthouse square.  The court house was built in the 30′s, so it makes a really cool backdrop for the cars show.  Even with the temperature pushing 100 degrees, they had somewhere around 100 cars participating.  Great show and congrats out to Archey Fork Car Club for another successful car show.  See you there next year on the last weekend in June!

April 30, 2011 – Toad Suck Daze Car Show: Finally!  The Toad Suck Car Club got a break in the weather after 2 years that were plagued by rain and flooding of downtown Conway.  Nearly 200 cars came out on an overcast day to enjoy the 25th anniversary of TSCC.  What a great day looking at cars and just visiting with the people.  The special anniversary trophies that were present were awesome, they looked like an old time gas pump and were laser cut by a local machine shop and painted by the auto collision class at the Conway Area Career Center that the car club support with an annual scholarship.  There were also a special dash plaque, door prizes, music and food available this year.  Great Job TSCC!

April 1 – 3, 2011 – Lonestar Rod & Kustom Roundup: After an early start, 3 am to be exact, and about 540 miles, we rolled into Austin, TX for another Lonestar Roundup. The Roundup is a traditional hot rod and custom show hosted by the Kontinentals.  These guys know how to put on a big show… which includes live music, vendors, swap meet and some of the best looking cars in the country.  The participants come in from California, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and even Canada to attend this how.  After spending Friday afternoon at the expo center, we headed down to South Congress Ave to hang and out and watch the hot rods and customs cruise up and down the strip.

Saturday was another full day at the fairgrounds.  Even more cars for day two.  I never heard an official count, but my best guest is somewhere around 2000 cars.  It’s hard to take pictures of so many cars but we tried to get as many as we could…

January 7 – 9, 2011 – O’Reilly Auto Parts Auto Extravaganza: First event of 2011, or maybe the last event of 2010, however you want to look at it.  There is now a break before the 2011 car show season starts.  This is an awesome way to kick it off.  Stillkruzn.com teamed up with Full Service Graphix and Mayflower Ink & Graphics and setup a vendor booth at this event.  This is the first year that Auto Extravaganza was ISCA sanctioned and it brought our some awesome cars.  Troy Trepanier was there with a couple of cars that he has built, Gold Digger, the 2010 Ridler Award winner, and other show circuit cars.

Also on hand this year was George Barris, world famous customizer, and Charley Hutton who selected and presented the Best Paint award.  There was also six pinstripers from around the country showcasing their work.  I got to meet and talk to Howie, one of the pinstripers.  He was really cool.  Didn’t get to get any shots of him laying down any stripes, but caught some of the other guys.

The pictures don’t do these cars justice, so if you missed the show, you missed some awesome cars.  Congrats to Carol Dolan and her team for putting on an awesome show.  To see a slide show, click here.  For individual pictures, click here.

Nov 19 – 21, 2010 – 2010 Super Cruise: This event takes place in Mountain View, AR which is an awesome place to visit in the fall of the year.  The event started out with a meal provided by the the organizers.  Saturday morning we met and left on a cruise that was led with a police escort to downtown Mountain View, and then on to Batesville for a tour of the Mark Martin museum, which is located at Mark Martin Ford.  There were about 60 – 80 cars that headed for Batesville on Saturday morning.  It is a beautiful sight seeing that many cars head down the highway.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to stay for the ending of the event on Sunday morning.  To see a slide show, click here.  For individual pictures, click here.

October 23, 2010 – 3rd Annual Fall Cruise: This made for a fun Saturday, kinda felt like a rolling car show, but instead it was a cruise along the Arkansas back roads from Conway to Hot Springs.  The best thing about the day was meeting new people and the organizers of this event did an awesome job putting it together.  Check out the ‘Articles of Interest’ for the write up.  To see a slide show of the day, click here.  For individual pictures, click here.

October 9, 2010 – CabotFest Car Show: The Christian Car Club in Cabot has done another excellent job this year with their annual CabotFest car show.  I believe that they ended up with about 80 -90 cars, and it was a wide variety of cars as you will see in the pictures.  I look forward to this how because it is the first show of the season that I am not actually working at a show.  Congrats to the guys and gals of the Christian Car Club on another successful year.  To see a slide show of the car show, click here.  For individual pictures, click here.

October 2, 2010 — Toadsuck Bike Rally: Another first today, a bike show.  Two shows in Conway today and neither a car show that I could take mine to, but I drove it and got some pics.  ABATE 17 did a great job putting the rally together and downtown Conway is a great place to do shows like this.  To see a slide show of the rally, click here.  For individual pictures, click here.

October 2, 2010 — Volkswagon Car Show at ToadSuck: First time for me to go to a VW car show.  Didn’t have any others to go to and this one was close by.  These guys do a good job hosting a car show and the park at Toadsuck Lock and Dam is a cool place fo a car show.  They had about 60 cars registred and there were some pretty cool cars there.  To see a slide show of the car show, click here.  For individual pictures, click here.

September 25, 2010 – Antioch Student Ministry Car Show: This is a car show near and dear to my haeart.  It benefits the student ministry of my chruch, Antioch Baptist Church.  This year the attendance was down a little but we still had 53 cars and 1 motorcycle.  Thanks to all whoe participated and joined in the fellowship.  It was a great day and some awesome vehicles.   To see a slide show of the car show click here.  For individual pictures click here.

August 21,  2010 – Toad Suck Car Show @ Pickles Gap Village: Toad Suck Car Club has done it again.  The temperature got up to about 103 degrees and still 90 cars came out to enjoy the show and village.  Again, there was a wide varietey from muscle cars, Corvettes (the local Corvette clubs showed up in full force), an Austin Healy, Sunbeam Tiger, and Cobra replicas.  The village is a great venue for this car show also, reminds you of a small downtown main street filled with classic cars.  Great job TSCC!  To see a slide show of the car show click here.  For individual pictures, click here.

July 10,  2010 – SearcyFest Car Show: Was a great day for a car show, a little warm, and a little rain, but otherwise a great day.  Looked like there was about 75 or so cars, and some that I hadn’t seen before.  The guys and girls in the Kustoms & Classics Unlimited Car Club did a great job.  To see a slide show of the car show click here.  For individual pictures, click here.

June 26, 2010 – Archey Fork Car Show: Man, was it hot in Clinton, AR today.  The folks in the Archey Fork Car Club put on an excellent car show.  The car show is held on the courthouse square in downtown Clinton.  They even had a few planes in the park area.  Anytime you can use the streets of downtown in any town, it makes for a good car show venue.  To see a slide show of the car show click here.  For individual pictures, click here.

May 7 – 9, 2010 – Stray Kat 500: What a weekend, the Stray Kat Kustoms did a tremendous job with this years show.  This is the first time I have made the trip to Dewey, OK for this car show and would definately make it again.  The city of Dewey closes the streets to the downtown area, and they fill it up with kustoms and hot rods(noticed I spelled that with a ‘K’? I understand that is the way they do things in Dewey).

There are pictures from all three days in the links below and check back in the months ahead from some feature cars from this show.

May 1, 2010 – Toad Suck Daze Car Show: Toad Suck Car Club hosted the TSD Car Show and despite the bad weather, had a good turnout of 55 cars.  TSCC does an awesome job of hosting a car show, although I might be a little biased since I am one of them.  Look for the 1956 Buick Special in the pictures.  This Buick is owned by Jack Smith of Conway, and was the first recipient of the stillkruzn.com sponsored trophy.  This is truly a gorgeous car.  To see a slide show of the car show click here.  For individual pictures, click here.

March 27, 2010 – Wheelin’ and Healin’ Car Show: This car show is hosted by the Arkansas Pontiac Association.  The hold the car show at Lake Willastein park in Maumelle, AR.  The car show area runs along the edge of the lake and is the perfect place for a car show.  Chris Ritter and the APA gang did an awesome job.  To see a slide show of the car show click here.  For individual pictures, click here.

November 11, 2009 – TSCC/CHS Meet & Greet: This was a little different type of event.  The Toad Suck Car Club hosted a meet and greet at the Auto Collision Shop at Conway High Career Center.  The club sponsors a scholar ship for students in this program and this gave both the students and club members a chance to get acquainted. To see a slide show of the car show click here.  For individual pictures, click here.

October 24, 2009 – Big CruiseFest, Little Rock: This years CruiseFest had a good variety of cars.  But to top things off Norm Grabowski, the father of the T-bucket was present again along with the Kookie II.  It’s always good to see Norm. To see a slide show of the car show click here.  For individual pictures, click here.
